The past few weeks I have spent in many hospital waiting rooms, and looked for projects I could throw in a bag on the go.  Luckily I had a few of those , "I'll get around to it one day...." type of ideas already sectioned into zip-lock bags.  One of which was my glass scrubbie sponge, which had seen better days.  I LOVE these things for dishwashing.  But they average $4 - $10 each and the sponge gets dirty SO fast!
Ew!  Gross!  It doesn't hold up to wash the sponge, and it mildews quickly too.  So this time when my glass scrubbie was due for the trash can, I saved it, unrolled the sponge,
and fashioned a pattern out of an ounce of scrap cotton yarn.
Then I rolled up my new cotton crocheted piece and fed it back through the eye of the handle, just as the sponge had been.
Please see the pattern below.  Enjoy and be sure to add your finished projects to Ravelry HERE.
