He Walks with Me Barefoot Sandals (Women's size 5 7)
Materials and Notions:
Size D/3.25MM crochet hook such as a SICK LIL MONKEYS Bubble Hook or size needed to obtain gauge

Red Heart #3 Crochet Thread (Note:  In testing we successfully used everything from Caron's worsted to lightweight thread.  The important thing is gauge)
Gauge: 13 DC = 2"
Abbreviation:
CH = Chain
MC=Magic Circle
ST = Stitch
SL ST = Slip Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
PICOT = Ch 4, join with SL ST to beginning CH or ST to form CH 4 loop
BLO = Back Loop Only
  
PLEASE CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
Pattern begins in the center of the cross at the circle between the 4 arms.  Please TRUST the pattern, at times it will feel confusing possibly, or as if you must be doing something wrong.  Just keep your place, and follow exactly as the pattern says and even an beginning crocheter can make this advanced pattern.

Center:
In MC, CH2, 12 DC, join to 1st DC with SL ST
Right Cross arm:
CH 9 SL ST in 4th CH from hook to make CH 4 PICOT
CH  5, SL ST in 4th CH from hook to make CH 4 PICOT (see Photo A)
6 DC, skip next ST in center, SL ST to next ST
CH 4, SL ST back in same ST in center to make CH 4 PICOT
SL ST to next ST in center (See Photo B)

CH 4, SL ST back in same ST in center to make CH 4 PICOT
SL ST to beginning ST you built the right arm from in center
6 SL ST down underside of right cross arm
SL ST in PICOT, SL ST in open CH on side of cross arm, SL ST in next PICOT, Do not finish off


Follow these instructions for right foot:
CH 19 SL ST in same PICOT to form pinky toe loop
6 SL ST across BLO of top of right cross arm
SL ST in PICOT, CH 4, SL ST in same PICOT
6 SL ST up top cross arm
SL ST in PICOT, CH 14 to form middle toe loop, SL ST in next PICOT,
6  SL ST across, BLO of side of top arm,
SL ST in next PICOT, CH 4, SL ST to same PICOT
6  SL ST across top of left cross arm, SL ST to next PICOT, CH 28 to form Big toe loop, SL ST to same PICOT
SL ST in center CH in side of left cross arm
SL ST in next PICOT,
6 SL ST in BLO of underside of left cross arm
SL ST to next PICOT, CH 4, SL ST to same PICOT
14 SL ST down 1st side of bottom cross arm
SL ST to next PICOT
SL ST to center CH SP on end of bottom arm,
SL ST to next PICOT
14 SL ST up final cross arm
SL ST to next picot, CH 4, SL ST to same PICOT.  Finish off
Follow these instructions for left foot:
CH 28 to form big toe loop, SL ST in same PICOT to form big toe loop
6 SL ST across BLO of top of right cross arm
SL ST in PICOT, CH 4, SL ST in same PICOT
6 SL ST up top cross arm
SL ST in PICOT, CH 14, to form middle toe loop, SL ST in next PICOT,
6 SL ST across, BLO of side of top arm,
SL ST in next PICOT, CH 4, SL ST to same PICOT
6 SL ST across top of left cross arm, SL ST to next PICOT,  CH 19, SL ST to same PICOT
SL ST in center CH in side of left cross arm
SL ST in next PICOT,
6 SL ST in BLO of underside of left cross arm
SL ST to next PICOT, CH 4, SL ST to same PICOT
14 SL ST down 1st side of bottom cross arm
SL ST to next PICOT
SL ST to center CH SP on end of bottom arm,

Right strap:
With a new starting knot, CH 24, then join to bottom PICOT on the end of right cross arm with a SL ST(the starting end of your chain will just dangle there until you pick it up and join it after the next two steps)
CH 16, join to right PICOT on bottom cross arm with a SL ST,
CH 16), join to 1st CH with a SL ST, then if you would like them to tie front, CH 80 or if you would like them to tie in back  CH 130


Left strap:
With a new starting knot, CH 24, then join to bottom PICOT on the end of left cross arm with a SL ST (the starting end of your chain will just dangle there until you pick it up and join it after the next two steps)
CH 16, join to left PICOT on bottom cross arm with a SL ST,
CH 16, join to 1st CH with a SL ST, then if you would like them to tie front, CH 80 or if you would like them to tie in back  CH 130
