Mixology Mock Knit Short Cowl Pattern:
Materials:
The Mixology Line has sets of colors that are made to coordinate together. By selecting a Swirl color, the coordinating print to that color, and the 4 solids out of the print, we can make anything and know that it will blend magically! Mixology yarns are all skeined in weight Super Bulky 6. The textures and prints will differ. Each skein will have 60 - 70 yards.
12 yards Red Heart Mixology in Solid Color A
11 yards Red Heart Mixology in Swirl Color B
11 yards Red Heart Mixology in Solid Color C
11 yards Red Heart Mixology in Solid Color D
11 yards Red Heart Mixology in Print Color E
12 yards Red Heart Mixology in Solid Color F
OR:
Option 1: make with 68 yards of one color
Option 2: double the yardage and make with same hook for a heavier thicker cowl. (Gauge shouldn't be affected enough to matter"

CH = Chain; ST = Stitch; SL ST = Slip Stitch; SC = Single Crochet
Gauge:
Q Hook - 4 sc x 8 rows = 4"
PLEASE check gauge, it is important to ensure proper fit.
Notes:
1) Do not count CH 1 as a ST.
2) Work 1st ST in same ST as CH 1.
3) Always
work your Row 1 into the BACK RIDGE of your starting chain.
4) The back ridge is the hump
located on the back of the single crochet

With Color A, CH 36 (Starting chain
should be about 36" long)
Round 2: CH 1, SC around in the back
ridge of Round 1. (Note: The back ridge is the hump located on the
back of the single crochet, this is sometimes called a camel stitch), join to
back ridge of 1st SC with a SL ST using the starting loop of Color
C <36 ST>
Round 3: CH 1, SC around in the back
ridge of Round 2, join to back ridge of 1st SC with a SL ST using the
starting loop of Color D <36 ST>
Round 4: CH 1, SC around in the back

If desired grab an extra
yard in any solid color (the solid skeins have a few
extra yards in them! and make
a tab, OR swap with a tab from another cowl in the series.
Mix 'em up and
match 'em up is the whole point of this awesome line!

13, SC in back ridge of 2nd CH from hook and in each back ridge across.
(Note: We are working into the back ridge in order to give ourselves a clean

Begin
edging:
CH 1, turn corner and SC 3 in between rows, turn corner, SC across, turn
corner, SC 3 in-between rows, turn corner, SC across, Finish Off. Join
to 1st SC using invisible join:

Attach one button to the end of the flap, turn the tab over and attach a
button to the other end. Now you have a reversible tab. Loop your
scarf however you desire and secure the button tab to hold it in place.
Mix and match for endless combinations!
